Work Place Giving
Companies can challenge their staff to make a monthly donation to Cotlands, which will be matched by management.

Tin & Bag Projects
Our branded coin collection tins can be circulated throughout the company, within various departments, for staff to donate small change or departmental fines. Employees can also bring in unwanted items of clothing and children's toys from their homes.

Direct Mail
Companies can make their own databases available for a 'once off' use to Cotlands for a direct mail appeal for donations. This appeal letter could be tailor-made in order to benefit the company by making their customers aware of their social responsibility investment in Cotlands.

Bequest & Trust
Cotlands Bequest Leaflets can be circulated among employees for their consideration.

Christmas cards, calendars and diaries - The staff complement can purchase their annual requirements from Cotlands.

Corporate & Promotional Gifts - client gifts could be purchased out of a range of corporate and promotional gifts, an ideal opportunity for companies to show their support by purchasing an added value product.

Foster Care & Adoption - staff can be made aware that Cotlands children are always in need of families and they could make themselves available as foster care or adoptive parents. Information and training services are available in this regard.

Training - Our HIV/AIDS in the Working Environment training package can be utilised for Management and Staff.

Cotlands is aggressively focused on Cause Related Marketing (CRM) opportunities in the business environment. The objective, as a marketer of a charitable organisation, is to identify marketing imperatives of a business, which relate to the holistic cause of Cotlands.

In the consumer's mind, Cotlands is striving to position itself positively to effect the consumer's buying behaviour, identifying that buying the business product is synonymous with buying the cause.

The CRM objective is to create a win-win situation for both Cotlands and the business, which in turn will lead to further sustainability.

The dynamic Cotlands brand is growing in recognition, strength, and perception. The favourable acceptance synonymous with the cause of Cotlands as a not-for-profit organisation within the community will assist in the CRM efforts as well as spreading the products and services offered to the community at large.

"If you hold a Cotlands Fundraiser , we require that you submit a Cotlands Fundraising Proposal to us for approval prior to the Activity/Event."

Adoption:
Adoption is a legal process whereby a family or an individual is screened with a view to having a child placed permanently into their care. At Cotlands, all the children needing placement are black, and about half of them are HIV positive. After the adoption process is finalized, the adopters are the full legal guardians of the child, as if he or she was their own biological child.

Foster Care:
This is also a legal process that entails screening and placement, but the child is only placed into the family's care for a period of two years. This period can be renewed. Again, all the children at Cotlands are black and sometimes HIV positive. The state retains guardianship rights and the foster parent is granted custody of the child. Foster children are entitled to free medical care through state health, free education, and the parent receives a small monthly grant to assist in caring for the child.

Sponsorship:
• R40 per month pays for sterilizing agent for our bottles
• R50 buys a baby grow
• R75 can buy a tin of milk formula, which provides two weeks of three hourly feeds.
• R420 pays for a child's funeral
