In November 2018, Cotlands launched a thought- provoking campaign called ‘Previously Advantaged’, to highlight the importance of ECD in a child’s first four years of life. The campaign profiles Cotlands’ past beneficiaries, which explains how our playgroups gave them the tools and skills they needed to succeed in life.
What the campaign puts forward 
is that people who’ve been successful in life, have had the previous advantage of ECD. One should never underestimate just how impressionable children are in their early years. By investing more resources into those first four years, Cotlands aims to address many of SA’s challenges, such as a poor matric pass-rate, high levels of crime and unemployment, inequality, and gender and child abuse.
