Cotlands is proud to announce that our Chief Operations Officer (COO) Monica Stach has been appointed as a board member to the National Early Childhood Development Alliance (NECDA). Stach was elected into the position at the NECDA general meeting held on 12 June 2015.

The NECDA is an independent body with a current membership of approximately 102 registered organisations all of whom are NPOs working in the ECD sector.

This highly influential organisation drives ECD practices in South Africa with the aim to address ECD concerns and improve on service delivery to children.

“I am honoured to be part of NECDA and believe that we have much work ahead of us if we are to meet the National Development Plan’s 2030 ECD goals,” said Stach.

“It is my pleasure to officially extend a warm welcome to Monica on behalf of the NECDA board. We thank Monica for offering her expertise and skill set to serve the broader ECD community. I am certain she is going to be a great asset to the team,” said Bertha Magoge, NECDA Director.

Stach who is currently working on her PHD in early childhood development also sits on the board of the International Toy Library Association (ITLA). She joined Cotlands in 2007 was tasked to explore innovative ways to stimulate development in young children. Toy libraries and the early learning playgroup models have since emerged under her leadership as the chief operations officer at Cotlands. Stach is passionate about promoting play in under-resourced communities.
