Cotlands hosted its first ever enterprise development seminar on Tuesday 11 March at Marion on Nicol.
The seminar was aimed at improving corporate spend in the NGO sector to make a meaningful difference in communities.
Guest speakers Karen Krakowitzer (CSI consultant), Jason Bygate (MD of Engage) and Jackie Schoeman (CEO of Cotlands) offered insight into the benefits of partnering with organisations such as Cotlands that actively seek to stay relevant to the communities in which it works and to the beneficiaries they serve.
“Through investments in enterprise development opportunities and social enterprise development – like the programmes initiated by Cotlands – we will be able to see significant change in our society,” said Krakowitzer.
Cotlands recently took a bold step in setting up the Cotlands Empowerment Trust that will ensure the organisations long term sustainability. This trust allows investors to claim enterprise development points on their BEE score cards and provides Cotlands with means to impact the lives of many more children.
In his talk Bygate stressed that CSI should be treated as an investment in our country’s future rather than a hand out.
“Corporates should apply their minds when approaching social investment. CSI should be approached with the same diligence as any traditional commercial strategic or financial decision that would affect business in the long run,” explained Bygate.
Cotlands extends its sincere thanks to Marion on Nicol for donating the exquisite venue and its services.
If you are interested in making a difference in the life of a child and a significant impact in our country’s future consider donating to Cotlands.
