Moving on to great things

December is party month at Cotlands playgroups – because that’s when we celebrate the graduation of hundreds of Cotlands’ children.

In December 2018, 98 children graduated from Cotlands playgroups in Gauteng; 288 graduated in Mpumalanga; 61 in the Eastern Cape; 153 in KZN; and 88 in the Western Cape. While we’re always sad to say goodbye to our little wards, we’re filled with hope for their future. We instilled a love of learning in our graduates and hope they carry this passion throughout their school careers. Thank you for giving our little stars a bright start.

Champions of play

Cotlands championed World Play Day in South Africa and invited corporates, universities and schools to participate in fun-filled 20-minute play sessions on 28 May.

If you missed this event, you can still donate on www.cotlands.org to help set up more toy libraries and early learning playgroups.

And if you took part, please share videos and photos of your 20-minute play sessions on social media with the tags #WorldPlayDay2019 #Cotlands.

Thank you for helping Cotlands ignite potential through play!

Sharing our joy for toys

There was much excitement at Cotlands as the highly- anticipated 15th International Toy Library Conference finally took place on 9-13 July in Johannesburg. We were proud to host this prestigious early learning play-based event with the Toy Library Association of South Africa.

The theme was “Beyond a toy library, a sustainable approach” and it showcased unique, culturally rich African-inspired toys and games for early childhood development (ECD). Delegates left the conference feeling inspired and motivated and we hope to see them running with the concepts they learned.
