Cotlands’ goal is to roll out 500 toy libraries nationally by 2022 to take early learning to more vulnerable children. In South Africa, the majority of young children don’t have access to early learning opportunities or play materials before starting school.

That’s why we’re determined to take our toy lending and play sessions to more children, as quickly as possible.

We’ve launched a new mobile toy library in Limpopo in May; and founded four new playgroups in KZN and three new playgroups in Mpumalanga.

In the Stellenbosch area, the Rupert Family Trust is funding a project that includes a mobile toy library and capacitating early childhood development (ECD) practitioners; while the Villiersdorp Project is also training ECD practitioners and parents and setting up a toy library.

Thank you to all sponsors and partners in government, the private sector and NGOs for helping bring these dreams to life. Together, we can do so much for our children. They are, after all, the future of South Africa.
